The Role: Xylem seeks to hire a Marketing Intern to join its Americas Building Services & Agriculture Vertical Marketing team for summer 2021. The building services market is something that is core to Xylem and a market that the Goulds Water Technology and Bell & Gossett brands have served for more than 160 years. 
Key applications include bringing potable water to the home, by means of an individual private well and removing unwanted water from the home, whether it means helping to prevent a flooded basement or transporting wastewater to the municipal sewage line. The company’s agriculture market focuses mainly on irrigating crops, a key market that has multiple adjacencies that we are focused on for growth. The company’s commercial building products help manage the plumbing and HVAC systems

The successful candidate will have demonstrated the ability to succeed in a fast paced, fluid environment, while ensuring that project initiatives are met. If you are excited and passionate to work in a digitally progressive and data-focused marketing team, we want to hear from you!
You will be assigned specific projects which are designed to add value to the organization while providing real world experience. While receiving mentoring and guidance, working with the Building Services & Agriculture Marketing Vertical team members on the growth initiatives.

Essential Duties/Principal Responsibilities:
  • Develop channel management customer excellence tool kit
  • Conduct voice of customer (VOC) activities to more closely understand specific residential customer decision makers (i.e. well drillers, plumbers, engineers), their communication preferences, and how we could increase their specification of Xylem products and services (this could include interviewing experts, conducting desk research and potentially visiting existing customers).
  • Help develop new collaborative training tools
  • Help develop digital tools, comparison of best business tools to help installers (well drillers, plumbers, contractors) grow their business
  • Develop end user campaign to drive awareness of new product(s)

Minimum Qualifications: Education, Experience, Skills, Abilities, License/Certification:
  • Attending an accredited University studying toward a Bachelors degree in Marketing/Business Administration.
  • A strong sense of ownership and drive; a self-starter
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, and is comfortable engaging others and asking questions
  • Good technical and organizational skills
  • The ability to work collaboratively within a team environment
  • An understanding of marketing technology or digital asset management is a plus
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint
