New Grad: Business Operations, Blue Planet

The Business Operations Specialist, Blue Planet Software will support the back-office processes relating to the sales, services and support of the Blue Planet cutting-edge software solutions.  By being a member of the small and dynamic Blue Planet Operations team you will have the opportunity to be mentored by experienced team members in sales, service, and product operations; working directly with internal customers from across the globe and with Ciena’s corporate cross-functional team members.  
Responsibilities
This role requires a strong interest in processes, working with multiple business systems, analyzing and solving problems, and providing excellent support to our team and internal customers.  It requires good communication skills, strong detail and organization skills, the ability to work well in a team and independently, be self-driven, deal with changing priorities, and communicate effectively including problem resolution escalations and questions.
Activities may include

  • Sales Quote creation and support
  • Order booking issue resolution and updates
  • Technical Support Entitlement creation
  • Software Delivery and Fulfillment coordination
  • Professional Services Project creation and updates
  • Customer Renewal creations
  • Projects that require extraction of data, analysis and summarization
  • Projects that require Excel or Powerpoint creation and/or maintenance
  • Supporting the implementation of new business systems
  • Providing Reports from various systems as requested
Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in business, finance, accounting or similar
  • General knowledge of computers and application programs (e.g. MS Office, Salesforce a plus)
