Communications Specialist

We are looking for an ambitious and energetic Communications Specialist to join our Marketing team! As a Communication Specialist at Journey Group, you will help manage and improve all our communications flows, within and outside of our company. You are a key part of enhancing the Journey culture and brand through enhanced communication and compelling messaging.
 
The Communications Specialist assists with the implementation of all internal and external communications material. This position will work closely with the Marketing and Communications Manager to facilitate the execution of social, digital, traditional marketing, sales, and communication strategies. The Communications Specialist will provide creative and written content for various communication channels.
 
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • Create and implement internal and external communication strategies
  • Manage external and internal communications flow (emails, newsletters, etc.)
  • Write and update content for company website
  • Develop social media content
  • Write and review company editorial content
  • Collaborate with marketing team to produce advertisement campaigns
  • Design company presentations
  • Other duties as assigned
 
Education and Experience
Bachelor’s degree in public relations, communications, or related field of study, and at least one year of communications or public relations experience; or an equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to successfully perform the essential job duties and responsibilities. Experience in copywriting, content creation, and social media platform management required.
 
Knowledge, Skills, Abilities and Other Characteristics
  • Strong copywriting, proofreading and editing skills
  • Knowledge of website content production
  • Experience in creating emails, newsletters, and company memos
  • Understanding of social media platforms and best practices
  • Outstanding organizational and time-management skills
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and presentation skills
  • Ability to handle and prioritize multiple tasks and meet stringent deadlines
  • Proficient with computer programs including Microsoft Office, HubSpot, and Canva
 
Work Environment
The majority of work takes place in an indoor office setting equipped with a computer, desk, phone, and other typical office equipment. Some work occurs in the field and travel to other locations is occasionally required for meetings and trainings.
